The Conference dinner is included in the “FULL” registration fee and will take place in beautiful Villa Luisa, slightly outside of Trieste, on Thursday, July 25.
Transportation to and from Villa Luisa will be arranged.
The venue can accommodate a maximum of 200 participants and the number of “FULL” registrations available will be allocated on first-come first-served basis, according to the payment date.

1. REQUEST YOUR EXCURSIONS BOOKING
Either when submitting your conference registration or later on, by sending an email to info@ishc2024.com
!! We will process booking requests received via email only if your registration fee has already been
paid in full.
!! This also holds for accompanying persons.
2. GET THE EMAIL FROM THE TRAVEL AGENCY
Your email will be transmitted by the Conference Secretariat to the Travel Agency, that will contact you with payment instructions.
3. PAY FOR THE EXCURSION BOOKED
Payment must be done directly to the Travel Agency, by bank transfer or credit card via MOTO (Mail Order Telephone Order) transaction (that is, the Travel Agency will ask for your credit card details).
!! Your booking is only guaranteed once the price of the excursion has been paid.
!! Credit cards accepted are VISA and MASTERCARD.
!! Bank transfer must be made in Euro, free of charges for the beneficiary.
!! Payment must be received by the Travel Agency no later than 21 June 2024.
4. GET YOUR RECEIPT/BOOKING CONFIRMATION
Once you made the payment, the Travel Agency issues a receipt that also vouches for confirmation of your excursion booking.
! All excursions include the use of audio devices. In case of loss or damage of the device, you will be charged a penalty of € 70.
Some excursions have a maximum number of participants. Booking of these events will be possible only until the maximum number of participants is reached and, in any case, no later than 21 June 2024.
After that date, on-site booking may be possible at the ISHC conference registration desk in Trieste until 6 pm on Sunday, 21 July 2024, and subject to availability of free places.
On-site payment will be possible in cash only.
YOUR BOOKING IS CONFIRMED, BUT THE EXCURSION IS CANCELLED
If the minimum number of participants required for the excursion that you booked is not reached, unfortunately the excursion will have to be cancelled. In such an event, the price paid will be refunded, deducted an administrative fee of 5€.
You will be notified about such circumstance at the latest by 7 July 2024, and you will also be offered the possibility to join one of the other excursions (price differences may apply and will need to be settled by you or will lead to a refund to you) Please note we will require decisions on this matter with a very short deadline.
YOUR BOOKING IS CONFIRMED, BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ATTEND
Your excursion booking is confirmed, but unfortunately you cannot join.
We are very sorry for that. Depending on the date of cancellation, the Travel Agency may not be able to refund the price you paid, as services and entrance fees are usually purchased well in advance.
Therefore, please be aware of the following cancellation and refunds policy:

When booking any excursions, it is your responsibility to make sure that you are fit and well enough to take part in any excursion booked and to take care of yourself whilst on it.

A private guide will make you discover the alleys of the “old town”, where you can walk around the Roman and medieval remains as well as the nearby elegant buildings with their Habsburg charm, illustrating the history of the city and sharing anecdotes and curiosities.

Already when crossing the Devil’s Bridge with its incredible view of the Natisone River, you will realize that you are in a special place. But it is only by peeking through the alleys and courts of the old city that you will find scattered treasures culminating in the marvelous Lombard Temple.
At the end of the visit, transfer to “Tavernetta del Castello di Spessa ” for dinner with matching wines.

Transfer by private coach to the Isonzo Karst, well known thanks to the poems of Giuseppe Ungaretti. Your first stop will be at Monte San Michele, scene of very hard battles on the Isonzo front in the early stages of the Great War. You will then visit San Martino del Carso, a small hamlet in the municipality of Sagrado. It is today immersed in the tranquility of the Karst nature, but in 1915, it was right in the heart of the front line. Completely destroyed by bombing, it became famous throughout Italy (and beyond) thanks to the poetry of Giuseppe Ungaretti. The visit will also touch on Castelvecchio estate with its Ungaretti Park, part of the “Gardens of Italy“ circuit, and the Villa, surrounded by vineyards that were once battlefields. The Villa itself was for some time home to the Italian military command (as evidenced by recently unearthed soldiers’ graffiti). Nowadays the estate hosts a renowned winery, where you will enjoy a wine tasting.
