Conference Registration

Please do read this section carefully. Being aware of the terms and steps of registration will improve the efficiency on all organizational levels — many thanks!

Registration Fees

All registrations in Euro (€). Conference registrations are exempt from VAT according to the Italian Laws (Art. 4 D.P.R. 633/72).

* LIGHT registration fee for students, academic, and industrial participants includes conference material, access to all lectures, access to online conference abstracts, refreshments during coffee breaks, shuttle transfers from Trieste downtown to conference venue and back, Welcome reception (on Sunday) and on-site lunches on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday.

* FULL registration fee = LIGHT registration + conference dinner (on Thursday) and bus transfer from/to the dinner venue.

** LIGHT registration fee for accompanying persons includes Welcome reception on Sunday, as well as a half-day local activities on Monday and on Tuesday (2-3 h)

Because of the specifics of the venues, the overall number of conference registrations (full + light) is limited to 400, and the number of seats for the conference dinner (full registration) is limited to 200. Slots will be allocated on first-come first-served basis according to the payment date.

Student fees apply to undergraduate and graduate students. Postdoctoral fellows are not eligible for Student rates.

Keynote Speakers are requested to register and tick the “Invited Keynote Speaker light” or “Invited Keynote Speaker full” registration box.

Registration process

    Access the ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM and fill it out

    !! We recommend that you register with an individual email account (either personal or
    institutional/corporate) that you regularly check. Please make sure you type your email
    address correctly! The email address is used to uniquely identify participants and for any
    communication with them. Please do not register with a generic email address.

    !! Please make sure you fill out the form properly and avoid any misspelling, since your input will be used for your conference badge, certificate of attendance and receipt.

    !! If you need the receipt to be addressed to your Institution/Company, please indicate

    such request in the “note” field of the registration form. Please note that the receipt will
    be issued to your Institution/Company using the details indicated in the corresponding
    fields of the registration form.

    !! You can indicate in the registration form the excursion you wish to attend. Please note
    that excursion booking and payment is a separate process and you can send us your
    booking for an excursion also later by email. For further information please refer to the
    Social Events page.

    1.2 Click “Register” to submit the online registration form. Please proceed to payment only once you have received the automatically generated confirmation email for your registration (see point 2). 

    Within a few minutes, you should receive a notification email from notifica-, in which you will find:

    a. a link to submit an abstract
    b. the IBAN code to pay the registration fee by bank transfer
    c. a link to pay the registration fee by credit card

    !! Please make sure you receive the email (check also your spam box!)

    !! Please do not reply to the notification email sender (notifica- as this email address is a no-reply address that is not
    managed. If you have any queries, please do email them to

    Receipt of the notification email confirms that your registration details have been saved
    in the system. Please now proceed with online credit card
    payment or leave the website to pay the registration fee by bank transfer. You can also pay at a later stage by using the email link for credit card payment or the bank transfer
    option. You can now also proceed with abstract submission.

    !! Please do note that your conference registration is only guaranteed once the

    registration fees have been paid in full.

    !! Credit cards accepted are VISA and MASTERCARD.

    !! Bank transfer must be made in Euro, free of charges for the beneficiary. Please make
    sure the description for payment is ISHC2024 + your first and last name (This is
    particularly important if the bank transfer is made by an Institution/Company).

    !! If you pay at a later time, please remember to comply with the deadline associated to
    your registration fee. 

    Once you made the payment, SCI – Società Chimica Italiana issues a receipt that also
    vouches for confirmation of your conference registration.

    !! The receipt will be sent to your email address. If you do not receive it within 3 weeks

    after payment, and also for any other queries about receipts, please contact

Online registrations will close on 24 June 2024
After that date, only on-site registrations are possible subject to availability and with an extra
50€ handling fee (credit card only). In order to check availability, please contact

If the unexpected happens, and you cannot join us in Trieste, yet you already registered and
paid the registration fee: we are very sorry and you will be truly missed! We will unfortunately
not be able to refund your full registration fee, as from the moment of registration, some costs
already start to incurr even before the start of the conference. Therefore, please be aware of
the following cancellation and refunds policy:

  • any cancellation must be notified by email to
  • for cancellation received
    • until 21 May 2024: refund will be subject to an administrative fee of 25% of the
      paid amount
      All charges involved in the refund transaction are borne by the participant
      Refunds will be handled after the Conference
    • from 22 May 2024 onwards: no refunds will be possible.
